1. Bleach + Vinegar

2. Bleach + Ammonia

Chloramine is a toxic gas created by combining bleach and ammonia. It has the same signs as bleach and vinegar, including shortness of breath and chest pain. Numerous glass and window cleaners contain ammonia, so don't ever combine those with bleach.

3. Baking Soda + Vinegar

Baking soda is basic, while vinegar is acidic. If you combine them, you'll often get sodium and water acetate. But mostly, it's water. 

Baking soda foams up when it comes into contact with vinegar. The combination can burst if kept in a locked container.

4. Hydrogen Peroxide and Vinegar

Acetic acid is an element of vinegar, and when combined with hydrogen peroxide, it forms a substance called peracetic acid. 

Since peracetic acid is toxic and highly corrosive, it can harm or destroy the outer layer of the material it contacts.

5. Bleach and Rubbing Alcohol

Cleaning with rubbing alcohol alone is possible, but it can be hazardous when combined with bleach. Rubbing alcohol offered in pharmacies or convenience stores generally has a concentration of 70 to 99 percent alcohol, indicating that it is highly concentrated. 

Bleach reacts with alcohol to produce toxic and dangerous chloroform and chloroacetone. Chloroform is a chemical that can be used to render people unconscious and is suspected of causing cancer.

6. Bleach and Toilet Bowl Cleaner

Different brands of toilet bowl cleaners, like drain cleaners, will have different ingredients. They may contain various acids and alcohol. 

As previously mentioned, acids and alcohols can react with bleach to produce toxic fumes and gases that are extremely dangerous to people. When cleaning your toilet, only use one or the other.

7. Drain Cleaner + Drain Cleaner

Chemical ingredients will differ depending on the drain cleaner's types and brands. A drain cleaner will almost certainly contain bleach, and you should never mix drain cleaners. 

Both drain cleaners are strong formulas that could explode if mixed. Follow the package instructions for one item.
